Do you want to be happy for an hour, then get drunk.
Do you want to be happy for three days, then marry.
But if you want to be happy for a lifetime,
you create a garden.
"Its’s like being in paradise here." An enthusiastic statement that you always hear when there is a beautiful garden, a view in a beautiful landscape, a park or to the joy of a successful planting arranged.
Staying in and studying nature calls for human well-being and faster disease recovery. The term health should be understood not only as the absence of disease or infirmity, but a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being. That is why nature and landscape in addition to the importance of recreation increasingly gain value for therapeutic use.
With garden therapy three different therapeutic approaches can be distinguished:
1. "Healing Garden School"
The approach of "Healing Garden School" assumes that natural charms of nature experience, due to the historical evolution of the human imprint, lead to relaxation and stress reduction.
2. "Horticultural Therapy School"
Active, pleasant and meaningful occupation with plants (gardening) stimulates to be physically active. Activity heals because the man is by nature an active living being. Activity will be rewarded with lush growth. Activity and reward, coupled with the experience of claims and possibilities convey a feeling of well-being.
This therapeutic approach is a planned, goal-oriented approach. It needs guidance from qualified therapists
3. "Cognitive School"
Based on the findings of cognitive psychology. Therapeutic effect depends on individual experience and character of the user. (Phytobiography) biographical references will help the user to appreciate himself as meaningful and important part of the surrounding nature in which it is possible for him to develop. Charms of nature as well as active involvement with the plant is important.
